I’m still working on designing a raw quartz crystal amulet for my female and male characters, and along the way I ended up making this simple bracelet with three crystals. So I thought I’d share it as a freebie!
I’ve been looking for a suitable Firefly crystal material for a long time that would both render quickly and look like raw quartz, which is essentially opaque-ish white with varying degrees of translucence and a Blinn-like specular shine (not the kind of highlights produced by Reflection). When I couldn’t find one, I spent a few weeks coming up with my own, using transparency, bump, and color maps along with a variety of procedural nodes.
I’ve tested these materials under several different lighting setups and adjusted them accordingly, but I’m curious to see how they hold up under other people’s lighting setups, so I’d really appreciate some feedback (and seeing sample renders!)
Package includes:
– 1 bracelet in OBJ and PP2 format (with smart-prop versions for V4 and M4)
(bracelet comes with 2 UV-map options: 1CrystalMatZone & 3CrystalMatZones)
– 84 materials in MT5 format
– 10 procedural mats for the Metal
– 22 procedural mats for the Band
– 25 color crystal mats for the Crystals
– 26 white crystal mats for the Crystals
– 2 light sets
Set up in Poser Pro 11 but should work in earlier versions of Poser from 9 and up. Not tested in DAZ Studio.
